Greenish wedding in Malibu

Monica and Jeremy were married at the Malibu Nature Preserve on July 10, 2009. Their casually green wedding started with a blast: they had rented a school bus for the trip and were singing their way to the wedding.

Monica and Jeremy had shared their green ideas, which centered around keeping everything as natural, local and low key as possible without loosing the glamor and fun with Arte TV earlier this year.
Miriam Geer, a well known local photographer, was right there capturing the joy and fun of everybody.

New Wave Weddings

"Digital Princess" films weddings, which are romantic or wild, vibrant or Zen but never serious or following the beaten path: couples create their own ceremonies, pull their rituals from all over the world, rent chairs from movie sets, buy vases from Thrift stores, basically do what feels right. Their theme and their props might be dramatic but they are Hollywood without the Ego, eccentric without being zilla-esk and eco without fighting with rigid rules. Mindfully indulgent weddings are our kind of green.

Rockn Roll Weddings, so green

I am always on about Green being a philosophy not just a new shopping list or worse, a list of must do's. The militant green scene carries their corn cob on a biodegradable plate to the banquet table covered with recyclable news paper, that's one way. But allowing the thought of "lush" to animate our brain cells must not end in Million Dollar Platinum weddings, where waste is Wollust. We don't have to party in grand pa's back yard afraid to keep all of our pennies in the jar.

The new couple adventures out into amazing venues...finds the attractive transport... goes passionate for vintage on many levels.

Reduce as in "make small" is cool and keeps us cool but going wild can still be eco and becomes the new cool. Re-use old stuff is a trip into unknown lands and those one-of-kind photos which follow beat a traditional hotel and conventional pomp weddings by far.

Producing earth hugging weddings since 2005 I found that DIY weddings are inherently eco, hippies have never veered away from it and creativity just screams green. Now we can add the rock'n roll weddings to the naturally planet friendly. Chucks were elevated to spicing up the traditional and they are, yes, vegan.

Partying in nature, old barns and closed movie theatres,

non-traditional couples integrate found objects, travel from flea market to thrift store to find the rock'n decor, the unique stuff of life. Vintage is big in the scene and re-use is high on their list.

Color is loved by weddings that shake the box.

It's a rocking green world.

Eco Bridal

As a pioneer in the bridal arena, Adele Wechsler targets the bride “who cares about the world in which she lives”. She was one of the first designers to create a Couture Collection with Eco-consciousness.

Wechsler’s line is made of certified organic hemp, silks and vegetable dyes, and is chemical-free. She incorporates remnant, or leftover fabric into organic design elements, also vintage pieces. Other noteworthy efforts include her use of fair trade labor for her beading, which is done in South Africa. Her gowns are also individually cut by hand, in the couture-style.

French Themed Wedding

Credit: Dana Hargitay Photography
Oh mon Dieux, Cynthia and Jeff were married at the Inn, inspired by the memories of their trips through the beauty of France and Edith Piaf's "La vie en rose". The touch of 1940 ties fit like a glove.

The Tour Eiffel was everywhere, not missing humor around their addiction.

Black, white and red was a passionate back ground for bridesmaids with a little edge...

and a bride wearing her tattoo as part of her bridal couture.

As a wink to the Inn's love for all things lavender and purple, Cynthia wore purple shoes...

... and integrated a touch of the royal color in her center pieces.

The eco-friendly aspect here: all crystal and glass containers were re-use objects.

Yes, the flower arch was opulent and the florist not much into eco ideas but we saved all flowers and created vases for the restaurant tables who then saved a trip to the LA mart not needing fresh flowers for their day to day table decor.

Je me souviens: Catherine Deneuve...
