Nice bathrooms for a green wedding

Here's to the fun loving bride: if you need bathrooms to party in California's gorgeous nature paradise, why not wrap them into some loving thought? Artists like Graffiti master Joe Garcia III have lend a brush to transform the most basic utility into something wow! that's different...
I can imagine them beautified a la art deco, pop art style or with leafy camouflage. Talking about leaves: Diamond provides the ultra practical stuff for events, the barricades, fences, bathrooms, shower trailers, even fresh water - they are all about the clean, orderly things in life. And recently, in tune with their eco-cool customers, they added not only the art aspect to the necessities of life but also gave it the green light with their Solar Exec Flushing Bathrooms. Now I wish they'd put it together: Imagine if "green" would meet the rainbow colors of a painter and we could step into eco friendly units right out of an Andy Warhol exhibition...

Green Weddings on Arte TV

Arte, a French/German TV station and online culture fab invited us last Sunday to be interviewed. Theme: green weddings, tag line: real love birds who are doing them. Monica and Jeremy, one of my green couples, were thrilled to help "la chaine de télévision culturelle, européenne" to get a colorful look into the eco-friendly wedding planning we love to do. They just recently booked the Malibu Nature Preserve, a non profit place close to Zuma Beach and about 20 minutes from Malibu.

We met at the Inn of the Seventh Ray, as they were interested to taste pastry chef Alehando's delicious organic lemon, mixed berries, champagne cream creation and maybe also order the Inn's organic wines. One of the cool things at the NP is that you can bring in alcoholic beverages without corkage fee: a huge saving, which makes room for a bigger, better something else.

After wedding champagne, the 02 Michaud Pinot Noir from Monterey County and an o5 Ojai Vineyard Syrah from Santa Barbara County, they were not shy anymore and gave Phillippe Lagnier from Arte a spirited time. Please notice the emphasis on local wines on the Inn's award winning wine list created by wine manager Travis Brazil.

Monica and Jeremy have booked a school bus for a sing along to their wedding site. Jeremy, who is from a small town in NY county and not as steeped into the green and organic life style as his fiance, has learned fast how much fun the eco friendly approach really is and became actively involved into all the creative, innovative solutions we discussed from living center pieces to the sustainable fish lists.

Phillippe was thrilled as five other couples, three of whom I had planned to show the site, popped in. Like this he caught lively scenes of the eco-conscious Inn's popularity and added an interview with Justin, who gave him a passionate run down on carbon offsets, a true green warrior who inspired his fiance Annette who in turn found the Inn. Happy ending for all...

After two hours on camera we made bold French man Phillippe a little shy: olala, he said with this cute accent, now I have to experience the lense on me...
ARTE-tv is a "zweisprachiger Kulturkanal" and if you speak one or the other, fun to check out.

Nods from the press

After the LA Times, the magazines Plenty and Five, the Jewish and Pasadena magazine and lots of news papers up to Boston talked about us and Japanese Radio and ABC TV let us talk ourselves, the local organic scene joined in. The February edition of Whole Life Times has five "green wedding" show cases and the one featured in LA is my singer/song writer couple Daniela and Dan. I love to see my persistence mentioned to get my couples' sometimes lofty dreams manifested down on Earth: "Daniela says Angelica’s been particularly helpful in communicating their sustainability-first vision to the various vendors. “We’ve been in the middle of a vendor meeting, and starting to feel overwhelmed, and she’ll just sweep in and say, here’s the vision. Maybe you can show us something more like that.”

Valentine Weddings

Red is love, red is very Valentine. There are quite a few weddings on the weekend of February 14/15, couples not afraid of the cold and inside big cozy hotels. Red is the color of fire - a great color for the crispier times of the year, primal and passionate.
Red is the color most chosen by extroverts and guys, it is after all associated with power, energy, strength and Mars, the god of war. In China, red is the color of prosperity and joy. Brides wear red and front doors are often painted red. Red also stands for lust and yes, a little anger.

The color red in your wedding promises:
  • enthusiasm
  • energy
  • action and confidence to go after your dreams
  • protection from fears and anxieties
  • passion
