Arte, a French/German TV station and online culture fab invited us last Sunday to be interviewed. Theme: green weddings, tag line: real love birds who are doing them. Monica and Jeremy, one of my green couples, were thrilled to help "la chaine de télévision culturelle, européenne" to get a colorful look into the eco-friendly wedding planning we love to do. They just recently booked the Malibu Nature Preserve, a non profit place close to Zuma Beach and about 20 minutes from Malibu.
We met at the Inn of the Seventh Ray, as they were interested to taste pastry chef Alehando's delicious organic lemon, mixed berries, champagne cream creation and maybe also order the Inn's organic wines. One of the cool things at the NP is that you can bring in alcoholic beverages without corkage fee: a huge saving, which makes room for a bigger, better something else.
After wedding champagne, the 02 Michaud Pinot Noir from Monterey County and an o5 Ojai Vineyard Syrah from Santa Barbara County, they were not shy anymore and gave Phillippe Lagnier from Arte a spirited time. Please notice the emphasis on local wines on the Inn's award winning wine list created by wine manager Travis Brazil.
Monica and Jeremy have booked a school bus for a sing along to their wedding site. Jeremy, who is from a small town in NY county and not as steeped into the green and organic life style as his fiance, has learned fast how much fun the eco friendly approach really is and became actively involved into all the creative, innovative solutions we discussed from living center pieces to the sustainable fish lists.
Phillippe was thrilled as five other couples, three of whom I had planned to show the site, popped in. Like this he caught lively scenes of the eco-conscious Inn's popularity and added an interview with Justin, who gave him a passionate run down on carbon offsets, a true green warrior who inspired his fiance Annette who in turn found the Inn. Happy ending for all...
After two hours on camera we made bold French man Phillippe a little shy: olala, he said with this cute accent, now I have to experience the lense on me...
ARTE-tv is a "zweisprachiger Kulturkanal" and if you speak one or the other, fun to check out.
